Rafael M. Reinoso has filed a suit against Rosalie M. Staats, claiming he was injured after a collision.
Reinoso was driving a truck west on College Avenue at its intersection with St. Francis Way in Alton on Nov. 21 when Staats, who was driving south on St. Francis Way approaching the intersection, collided with Reinoso, according to the complaint filed Dec. 10 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Because of the accident, Reinoso sustained injuries that caused him pain and disability, has incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
Reinoso claims Staats was negligent because she failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to stop at a stop sign, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to stop, slow down or swerve to avoid an accident.
Reinoso is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
