Donald T. White has filed suit against Daniel P. Hazeltine, alleging his knee was injured after a collision.
White was driving north on Illinois Route 111 on Jan. 22, 2007, at 10:46 p.m. near its intersection with the Cahokia Diversion Canal in Hartford when he was struck by Hazeltine, who was also driving north, according to the complaint filed Dec. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court.
In addition to his injury, White sustained pain and suffering, past and future disability, past and future medical expenses, past and future lost wages and past and future diminution of earning capacity, the suit states.
White claims Hazeltine was negligent because he failed to reduce his speed, drove too fast for the conditions, drove recklessly, passed a vehicle in a no passing zone and failed to keep a proper lookout.
White is seeking an amount in excess of that necessary to confer jurisdiction in Madison County Circuit Court.
He is represented by Lance R. Mallon of the Mallon Law Firm in Wood River.
