Deona Chiappa has settled her personal injury suit against Carol Ogle.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla signed off on the settlement Oct. 2.
The case was scheduled for trial Oct. 14.
Chiappa of Worden filed suit against Ogle of Collinsville on Feb. 27, 2007, alleging Ogle collided with her at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 21st Street in Granite City on June 8, 2005.
Represented by Morgan Scroggins of Granite City, Chiappa claims Ogle was negligent by failing to maintain proper signaling devices, obey all traffic control devices, keep her vehicle in proper operating condition and maintain a proper lookout.
Chiappa was seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries she sustained as a result of the accident in addition to pain and suffering, lost wages, damage to personal property and lost wages.
