Kenneth R. Kiefer, Jr. has filed suit against Leland C. Nollau, alleging he was injured in a collision.
Kiefer claims he was driving east on Douglas Road at its intersection with Illinois Route 159 on June 12, according to a complaint filed Aug. 27 in St. Clair Circuit Court.
He claims Nollau, who was driving north on Illinois Route 159, failed to stop at a red light and collided into the passenger side of Kiefer's car.
According to the lawsuit, Kiefer sustained injuries to various parts of his body.
He claims his wounds caused pain, permanent disability, loss of normal life and loss of wages, which he says will continue in the future.
Kiefer claims Nollau was negligent because he operated his vehicle at a speed that was greater than reasonable, failed to reduce the speed of his motor vehicle to avoid a collision, disobeyed the traffic control signal, failed to stop in response to the red signal light, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and failed to stop, swerve, slow down or avoid colliding with Kiefer's vehicle.
He is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000 with the costs of the suit.
He is represented by B. Jay Dowling of Sterling and Dowling, P.C. in Fairview Heights.
