Truck failed to yield right of way at intersection, suit claims

Brian Kietz claims he suffered head, neck, back, arm, wrist and leg injuries in a lawsuit against Ole Tyme Produce and its driver Michael Mason II.

According to a complaint filed Aug. 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Kietz was driving his 1996 Mitsubishi Fuso northbound on 11th Street in Belleville when he was struck by a 2002 International Straight Truck that had been eastbound on Illinois Highway 15.

Kietz claims the truck, driven by Mason, "proceeded through said intersection with a red light, striking Plaintiff's vehicle."

The lawsuit claims Mason failed to yield right of way at an intersection.

Kietz, who is represented by Richard G. Reed of Reed and Bruhn in Belleville, is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages.
