A man who allegedly suffered a broken clavicle in an auto accident two years ago is suing the driver he alleges is negligent.
John Hatzl of St. Clair County was a passenger in a vehicle driven by David Seyfer, according to a complaint filed Aug. 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Hatzl claims Seyfer, who was driving eastbound in the Sauget Industrial Park in Sauget on Aug. 19, 2006, failed to reduce his speed to avoid an accident, drove at a speed greater than reasonable, failed to keep his vehicle on the roadway, failed to stop at a stop sign and drove faster than the posted speed limit.
The law suit claims Seyfer's vehicle left the roadway and crashed, causing Hatzl to sustain serious and permanent injuries.
Hatzl is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. He is represented by Gregory Shevlin of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin of Belleville.
