Blue soapy substance leads to suit against Dollar General

Dollar General

A mother who slipped and fell while holding her daughter at the Pontoon Beach Dollar General has filed a personal injury suit seeking damages in excess of $15,000.

Anita Aguayo claims she slipped on a puddle of blue soap that was on the floor of the store Aug. 6, 2006.

According to Aguayo, she was holding her minor daughter at the time of her fall.

She claims Dollar General was negligent by failing to warn her of the blue soapy substance, and for permitting and allowing the puddle to remain and failed to clean the puddle.

Aguayo claims her daughter sustained injuries to her chest, ribs and legs that caused medical expenses and pain.

Aguayo claims the fall caused injuries to her stomach, abdomen and knees that has caused and continues to cause pain, suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.

She is represented by attorney Kristen Wadiak of Glen Carbon.

The case is awaiting mandatory arbitration.
