JF Electric and driver sued after trailer crosses into oncoming lane

JF Electric is being sued by a woman who allegedly sustained serious injuries when a trailer loaded with a wooden light pole came unhooked and crossed into her oncoming traffic lane.

Bonnie McCurley is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages plus costs of a suit filed Aug. 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court for an incident that took place June 17 on West Boulevard in Belleville.

According to the complaint, McCurley was southbound near the intersection of Delmar Ave. when the trailer towed by JF Electric's vehicle came unhooked.

The suit also names JF Electric driver Steven Mueller.

McCurley claims the defendants were negligent for failing to properly secure the trailer to the vehicle.

She claims permanently disabling injuries to her head, neck and body as a whole.

McCurley is represented by Bruce Cook of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin of Belleville.
