Claim for stolen Envoy not paid, says Fairview Heights man

A Fairview Heights man filed suit against State Farm Insurance Company and Americredit Financial Services in Madison County Circuit Court May 12, alleging the defendants failed to pay his insurance claim.

Terrance Connors claims his 2004 GMC Envoy was stolen from his residence at 415 Lemans Way in Fairview Heights on May 13, 2006, causing him to file an insurance claim with both defendants.

According to Connors, State Farm was the main insurance carrier for his vehicle however he also purchased "Gap" insurance from Americredit.

Connors claims both defendants had a duty to pay his insurance claim but have refused to pay the claim causing him to suffer damages.

"Defendants vexatiously and unreasonably denied the Plaintiff's claim and refused to pay," the complaint states.

Represented by Patricia Dennis of Edwardsville, Connors is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.
