Illinois Central Railroad brakeman and switchman William Grammer claims he suffers from occupational bilateral wrists and bilateral elbows as a result of repetitive and cumulative trauma, according to a Federal Employers' Liability Act suit filed April 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Grammer, of Carterville, Ill., has been employed by Illinois Central and its variouis predecessors since February 1972, the complaint states.
Represented by Paul W. Johnson of Kujawski & Associates in O'Fallon, Grammer is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages plus costs of the suit.
Among other things, Grammer claims Illinois Central failed to provide him with a safe place to work.
He claims he has had to undergo medical treatment and has incurred medical expenses.
