Tina Zeilman is suing Pamela Zeilman for severe injuries sustained by Perry D. McNairy, Jr., a minor, in a car accident Jan. 30, 2007, on Interstate 64 in St. Clair County.
According to a suit filed April 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, McNairy, who was under age 6 at the time, was thrown out of a vehicle Pamela Zeilman was operating after it "violently overturned" between mile markers 5 and 6.
McNairy sustained injuries to his head, neck, legs, ankles and internal and external organs, the complaint states.
"That he sustained scars to his face and body, all of which are permanent in nature, and sustained damage to his growth centers...," the complaint states.
Tina Zeilman, who was appointed McNairy's guardian on March 24, claims Pamela Zeilman failed to properly fasten McNairy in a seat belt or car seat.
She also alleges that Pamela Zeilman operated her vehicle under the influence of drugs or intoxicating compounds.
Seeking in excess of $200,000 in damages, Tina Zeilman is represented by Paul M. Storment, Jr. of Belleville.
