Fall from doc's exam table leads to $50k personal injury claim

A man who fell off a doctor's exam table filed a personal injury suit against St. Louis Cardiology Consultants claiming they failed to assist him.

Marvin Turner claims he was receiving an examination on May 12, 2006, when he fell getting down from the patient examining table, according to a suit filed April 11 in Madison County Circuit Court. Turner claims he sustained injuries to his left elbow, right knee, back and legs.

He claims St. Louis Cardiology was negligent for failing to assist him in getting off the examination table, failing to provide him with assistance devices to help him get down and failed to provide him with an alternate examination table that could be lowered.

Represented by Lance Mallon of Wood River, Turner claims his injuries have and will continue to cause pain and suffering, medical expenses and a disability.

He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.
