Fairmont Park in Collinsville is being sued by a customer who claims he fell on ice cubes in an area he had to walk, causing him to fall and suffer severe injury.
Leonard Nelson filed suit March 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court seeking in excess of $60,000 in damages from the racing park.
Nelson, represented by John Hustava of Collinsville, claims the defendant is negligent for faiing to properly train its employees on the correct way to inspect the area in which the plaintiff would be.
The ice cubes were left on the first floor of the club center aisle, the complaint states.
Nelson also claims Fairmont Park is negligent for failing to warn him of dangerous conditions and for using poor judgment in installing an ice container in the area.
