The father of a Cahokia boy injured as a passenger in a parking lot accident is suing two drivers involved in the accident and the shopping center where the incident occurred May 22, 2007.
Represented by Ronald J. Foster of The Rex Carr Law Firm in East St. Louis, John Kilhafner is seeking in excess of $300,000 for his son Jayden Kilhafner's severe and permanent injuries.
According to the complaint filed Feb. 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, James Dowdy, the driver of the car Kilhafner was riding in, turned left in front of Colleen Morgan in a parking lot located at 1028 Camp Jackson in Cahokia.
Dowdy was driving a 2005 Hyundai Tucson and Morgan was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the complaint states.
Kilhafner claims Morgan was negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout and failing to swerve, among other things.
He claims the shopping center failed to properly trim and maintain bushes on its property so as to prevent them from obstructing the vision of drivers on its premises.
