Dwight V. Brewer, a bridge and building trackman for CSX Transportation since 1972, filed a Federal Employers' Liability Act suit in St. Clair County Circuit Court Feb. 1.
Brewer, represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin in East Alton, claims knee and other bodily injuries from numerous repetitive traumas.
Seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, Brewer claims he has suffered pain and mental anguish, incurred medical expenses and has lost money and earnings he otherwise would have been entitled to.
According to the complaint, CSX was negligent for failing to provide a safe place to work, failing to provide safe methods of work, failing to provide sufficient manpower and failing to provide safe tools and equipment.
