A customer of the O'Fallon Taco Bell restaurant clainms she tripped on a turned up and puckered rug, fell through an exit way and then fell again on a slippery substance on an outside curb June 3, 2006.
Mary Young is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages for severe bodily injuries, according to a suit filed Jan. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
She claims Taco Bell failed to keep its property in a safe condition, failed to warn her of defective conditions, failed to maintain and clean the exit area and negligently used unsafe rugs in its entrance way.
"...Plaintiff was caused to trip and fall when attempting to leave said restaurant, with great force and violence, thereby greatly injuring herself...," the complaint states.
Young is represented by Thomas O. Falb of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
