Mark S. Just of O'Fallon alleges $139,931.75 in Social Security Disability benefits was wrongfully offset in the course of settling a workers' compensation claim.
Just filed suit against attorney Mark Glass and Glass & Korein, LLC of East St. Louis, claiming the defendants "failed to include certain language in the settlement contract of plaintiff's workers' compensation claim which would have prevented certain offsets from Social Security Disability..."
He also claims Glass "failed to provide any legal advice...regarding the effects of a lump sum settlement on Social Security Disability..."
According to Just's suit filed Jan. 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, he was injured on the job in September 2003 and retained Glass to represent him in a work comp claim. His work comp case settled Jan. 26, 2006.
