A well-known family and adoption attorney was named in a personal injury lawsuit filed Jan. 11, in Madison County Circuit Court.
Kenneth Andrews alleges that on Jan. 12, 2006, he was a business invitee at the home of Susan Grammer.
Grammer operates a law practice in Bethalto.
Andrews, of Mount Olive, alleges that an unreasonably dangerous condition existed on the stairway in Grammer's house causing him to fall and suffer injuries.
"At the time and place defendant owed a duty of reasonable care to the plaintiff for the plaintiffs safety," the complaint states. "Defendant breached her duty of care."
According to Andrews, the fall caused him to incur medical expenses and he endured pain and suffering.
Represented by William Meacham of Edwardsville, Andrews is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit.
