FELA suit filed in federal court

William Campbell, a conductor for CSX Transportation, filed a Federal Employers' Liability Act suit against his employer alleging he sustained neck and back injuries after being exposed to repetitive trauma during his career at the railroad.

Represented by Daniel Francis of St. Louis, Campbell filed his suit in U.S. District Court Nov.2.

He claims his responsibilities included walking on rough, uneven surfaces and locations and riding on rough equipment causing his neck and back to become injured requiring medical treatment and possible future surgery.

Campbell claims CSX failed to provide a safe place to work, failed to provide safe conditions, failed to provide safe equipment and failed to provide sufficient help.

According to Campbell, his alleged injuries cause him to sustain pain, suffering, mental anguish, lost wages and medical expenses.

He is seeking damages in excess of $75,000, plus costs of the suit.

The case has been assigned to District Judge Michael Reagan.
