Estella Denault of Marissa is suing Holly Long of New Athens over an auto accident that occurred Aug. 9, 2005, along State Route 4 near Zeigler Mine Road in Franklin County.
The two-count suit, seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages, also lists Denault's daughter, Stephanie Denault, as a plaintiff.
According to the complaint filed Aug. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Long failed to reduce her speed, brake or sound her horn before striking Denault's stopped Ford Tempo.
Represented by Michael McGlynn of Belleville, the Denaults claim they suffered injuries to their backs and necks.
