Plaintiff Tillery sues for slip and fall on melted ice

Shop N' Save and Metro Ice are in hot water over melted ice that allegedly injured a Jerseyville shopper.

Plaintiff Gabrielle Tillery filed suit July 31 in Madison County Circuit Court claiming she hurt her neck and back after slipping on standing water that was left from an ice delivery on June 25, 2006.

She claims the store negligently allowed the water to stand and negligently failed to mop it up.

Represented by Dawn Hall of the Mallon Law Firm in Wood River, Tillery also claims the defendants failed to properly clean the floors and failed to warn those in close proximity of standing water on the floor.

Tillery is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages. She claims to have incurred pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages, disability and dimunition of earnings -- past and future.

Circuit Judge Daniel Stack has been assigned to the case.
