601 South Main St. in Dupo
A property renter is suing his landlords for injuries he sustained while descending a set of steps at 601 South Main St. in Dupo on June 11, 2006.
Jason J. Schropp filed a $50,000 lawsuit against property owners Charlie and Joan Proffer in St. Clair County Circuit Court June 12.
Represented by Mark C. Scroggins of Crowder & Scroggins in Columbia, Schropp claims his serious injuries have hindered him from attending to his usual and customary affairs. He claims he has lost, and will continue to lose, wages, profits and the value of that time.
"Plaintiff has also suffered a great deal of pain and anguish, in both mind and body, and will continue to suffer in the future," the complaint states.
He claims the defendants failed to remedy the dangerous condition of the steps, despite being notified of their unsafe condition.
