Truck driver claims back injuries in warehouse fall

A self-employed truck driver is suing Lanter Delivery Systems in Madison, claiming he was injured on the defendant's loading dock during a delivery on July 25, 2005.

Richard Hemme claims that while he was loading items from Lanter's warehouse, located at 1 King Dr., someone -- without his knowledge -- moved his truck while he was in the process of loading it.

Hemme claims he suffered severe, permanent and painful injuries to his back and neck when he fell, according to the suit filed June 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Represented by John M. English of Kassly, Bone, English & Hillebrand of Belleville, Hemme is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.

The suit claims the defendant failed to keep a proper lookout for people loading materials on the truck.
