Casino Queen worker claims boat unseaworthy in Jones Act suit

A Casino Queen crew member has filed a Jones Act suit in St. Clair County Circuit Court claiming she injured her right knee while performing work duties.

Linda Snyder's complaint claims the vessel, which floats on the Mississippi River, was unseaworthy. She claims she was injured on July 10, 2004.

Seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, Snyder is represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.

She claims the defendant was negligent for failing to provide her with a safe place to work, adequate equipment and adequate help in the performance of her duties.

The complaint does not indicate what job she performed.
