Apartment owners and manager sued for woman's broken elbow

Lisa Cistrunk of Belleville is suing the owners and manager of an apartment building where she was allegedly injured by an unsecured mat on a walkway.

Cistrunk claims she broke her "right elbow and other internal and external organs" when she fell at an apartment building located at 3100 Martha St. in Belleville on Aug. 31, 2005.

She filed suit May 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against owners Judith and Mercurio Michael Zinn of Millstadt and the property management company, World Wide Management Inc.

Seeking in excess of $150,000 in damages, Cistrunk is represented by Gary A. Mack of Belleville.

She claims the defendants failed to maintain the walkway, failed to warn that she was being directed to a dangerous location due to the mat not being secured and failed to remove the dangerous condition.

Cistrunk claims she spent diverse sums on hospitals and physicians in curing herself, sustained great pain and mental anguish, missed numerous working days and will in the future miss numerous working days.
