Missouri podiatrist sued in St. Clair County

Bridgeton, Mo. podiatrist Jeffrey S. Boberg, DPM, and Advanced Footcare are being sued in St. Clair County Circuit Court by a man who claims he suffered nerve damage during a surgical procedure.

Benjamin Worman filed suit April 27 claiming that Boberg failed to adequately visualize, isolate and protect the lateral plantar nerve and the calcaneal branch of the posterior tibial nerve during surgery on July 7, 2006. He also claims Boberg negligently transected and damaged his lateral plantar nerve and the calcaneal branch of the posterior tibial nerve.

Worman claims he had to undergo nerve repair surgery.

"Plaintiff has sustained constant pain and suffering," the complaint states.

Represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin of Belleville, Worman is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages.

He claims medical expenses and lost income.
