Trackman claims Illinois Central negligent

An Illinois Central Railroad trackman has filed a Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) suit against his employer claiming shoulder injuries when two machines collided.

According to a suit filed April 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Stanley Taylor was hurt during an incident that happened May 27, 2005, in Alma, Ill.

Represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin in East Alton, Taylor is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages.

He claims the railroad failed to provide him a reasonably safe place to work; failed to provide safe methods of work, failed to provide sufficient manpower, failed to provide safe tools and equipment and negligently assigned him to a task.
