A runoff election will be held for two applicants vying for an associate judge vacancy in the Third Judicial Circuit.
Madison County attorneys Keith Jensen and Tom Gibbons will advance to a second round of balloting. The nine circuit judges of the Third Judicial Circuit will receive runoff ballots and submit them to the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts in Springfield.
Chief Judge Ann Callis announced in a press release that there was not a candidate who received the necessary majority (five votes) to fill the position in the first balloting round.
