Brooklyn nightclub sued for not properly training bouncers

Customers of a Brooklyn, Ill. nightclub claim the owners of Garrett's Pink Slip Exotic Bar are negligent for failing to properly train its bouncers.

Lionel Willis and Jeffrey Hughes of Missouri filed suit March 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, claiming injuries from an incident on July 11, 2006.

Willis and Hughes, represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel of Belleville, are seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages plus costs.

They claim they suffered a loss of income, incurred medical bills, suffered pain and suffered a loss of normal life.

"It (Garrett's Pink Slip Exotic Bar) negligently allowed its agents, servants, and employees to remain in a security position when they knew or should have known that this presented a risk of danger and injury to invitees, such as the plaintiff(s)," the complaint states.
