A Du Quoin man who rode his 2006 Harley-Davidson M-50 motorcycle over "construction-related defects" on a highway entrance ramp is suing a road contractor for injuries sustained in a crash last year.
Mike Fisher filed suit against Keeley and Sons, Inc. in St. Clair County Circuit Court Feb. 16 claiming the contractor used an improper mixture of material and failed to properly compact the surface of an entrance ramp connecting westbound Interstate 64 to eastbound Interstate 70 in East St. Louis.
Keeley and Sons also conducts business under the name, Maclair Asphalt Co., the complaint states.
The incident which occurred May 7, 2006 at approximately 11 a.m. caused him to suffer head, neck, back, arm and leg injuries, Fisher claims.
Represented by Robert C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson in Belleville, Fisher is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.
He claims he has spent money on medical care, lost wages and suffered a disability as a result of his injuries.
Fisher also claims his Harley was damaged.
