A concrete worker assigned to an Interstate 64 project near Caseyville is suing Illini Concrete after one its drivers struck him in the back with a concrete chute.
Jason Jones is seeking in excess of $50,000 for severe and permanently disabling and disfiguring injuries to his knees, back, chest and body as a whole.
Jones is represented by Gregory Shevlin of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer & Shevlin of Belleville.
According to the complaint filed Feb. 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, the incident took place July 28, 2005.
Among other things, Jones claims the truck driver failed to secure the concrete chute on the back of his truck, failed to notice that the chute was going to come into contact with workers and failed to repair a defect in the chute lock system.
