Services set for Chamber Director Becky Henry

Becky Henry, executive director of the O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce, is pictured at a December chamber event with O'Fallon Mayor Gary Graham.

Executive director for the O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce, Rebecca "Becky" Ann Henry, 52, of O'Fallon, died Sunday, Feb. 4, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

"Becky Henry was a dear individual that always led with both her brain and her heart," Gary Graham, mayor of O'Fallon, said. "She brought so much human caring to the issues that the City dealt with that she kept us all on track by reminding us that our number one responsibility was to move our City forward while protecting the individual rights of our citizens.

"She kept us focused on the important issues and away from the petty issues of politics at the local level. She will be missed but never forgotten for her contributions to making O'Fallon a better place to live and raise our families."

For a number of years, Henry also was responsible for the planning the Salute to Scott Day, fundraisers for the Scott Air Show, and served on the Scott Field Heritage Air Park Committee, as well as many other various community activities.

She was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Hall and husband Charles "Chuck" R. Henry, who died May 1, 2005.

She is survived by two sons Joshua and (Keri) Henry of Lebanon, and Luke Henry of O'Fallon, her mother Leona, nee Farris, and Al Parish of North Shore, Calif., two brothers, Joe and (Cathy) Hall of Prescott, Ariz., John Hall of Virginia, a sister Donna and (Brad) Bertling of North Shore, Calif. and mother-in-law Edith, nee Fookes, Henry of O'Fallon.
