Angela Graves filed a personal injury suit against the East Alton Huck's convenience store in Madison County Circuit Court Jan. 5, seeking damages in excess of $50,000.
Graves claims that on Sept. 4, 2006, she fell threw a doorway and fell on broken glass that was left on the floor of the entrance.
According to Graves, prior to her arrival the front door had been shattered and removed leaving only the metal frame.
She claims Huck's failed to exercise reasonable care by failing to provide a safe means of ingress and egress into the store, failed to warn customers that the door had been shattered, failed to barricade the broken door or otherwise prevent entry and failed to remove the broken door.
Graves claims her injuries caused her to suffer pain of the body and mind, to incur medical bills and the loss of money she would have otherwise made as an able-bodied person.
She is represented by Samuel Mormino, Jr. of Alton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David Hylla.
