A woman recovering from knee surgery at home filed suit against her convalescent service and its employee claiming the employee threw a wooden tray table at her.
Mary Earls of Granite City claims Priscilla Bowen of Addus Healthcare, who was at her home to assist with light housework and helping to convalesce, intentionally threw a wooden tray table at her on Sept. 27.
The suit was filed in Madison County Circuit Court Dec. 4.
Earls claims she was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and suffered extensive injuries to her head, body and limbs and additional injuries to her knee.
She also claims she received injuries to the soft tissues of the cervical, shoulder, and lumbar area, including the muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves, suffered a disability, experienced pain and suffering and became liable for medical expenses.
Represented by John Hustava of Collinsville, Earls is seeking damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs of the suit.
The case has been assigned to Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla.
