Worker claims injuries from aerial lift bucket

A man who was hit by the bucket of an aerial lift at a Granite City Steel construction project filed a personal injury suit against the lift operator and his employer in Madison County Circuit Court Nov. 22.

David Wills claims he sustained permanent injuries to his arms and shoulders on March 6, when Mark Boeving, an employee of Guarantee Electrical Company, negligently and carelessly failed to keep the aerial lift he was operating under proper control.

Wills also claims Boeving negligently failed to keep the lift he was operating in good working order and failed to keep a proper lookout for other workers in the construction area.

According to the suit, Wills suffered and continues to suffer great pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages and medical and hospital expenses.

Represented by Bruce Cook of Belleville, Wills is seeking damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs.
