Phyllis C. Brown of Belleville is suing a Charter Communications contractor for injuries she sustained after tripping on a cable line.
Brown claims Jon Anthony, doing business as Anthony's Tru Techs, failed to bury or secure a cable line he serviced at her residence, located at 2607 Eastview Dr, sometime before Sept. 11, 2005.
According to the complaint filed Nov. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Brown was walking on the premises of her residence when she tripped on a cable that was left above ground by Anthony.
"Plaintiff was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and suffered extensive injuries, internally and externally, to her shoulders, knees, legs and other body parts," the complaint states.
Brown, seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, is represented by David C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson in Belleville.
Charter Communications is not named in the title of the suit, but Brown's complaint suggests Charter is a defendant in the body of the lawsuit.
Brown claims she incurred medical expenses, lost wages and suffered disability and severe emotional damage as a result of her injuries.
