John Pruett, a licensed clinical social worker, has been named chairman of the Third Judicial Circuit Family Violence Prevention Council Health Committee.
His experience includes managing substance abuse services and program in child welfare settings. He received his master's degree in social work from the University of Tennessee in 1985.
The Health Committee coordinates domestic violence training at dental schools and for emergency room personnel. It is one of the five primary committees of the Third Circuit Family Violence Prevention Council.
The goals of the council are to educate individuals about domestic violence and to create programs to intervene in domestic violence situations.
