'No Retention' signs starting to sprout in Madison County

"No Retention" signs sprouting in Madison County are an alternative to the numerous "Yes" signs that dot the county's roadways, according to Bob Hulme, a former chairman of the Madison County Republican Central Committee.

Hulme is part of a grassroots movement hoping to unseat Third Circuit judges, Ann Callis, John Knight and Charles Romani, running for retention Nov. 7.

He said that only one sign that he knows of has been torn down.

"Signs are a form of free speech," Hulme said. "Our goal is to give a good reason to vote no."

Hulme said his organization recently spent $2,000 for 500 yard signs.
