ESL man sues for car crash into residence

An East St. Louis man claims head, neck, shoulder and back injuries after a car crashed into his residence at 5319 State St. on Aug. 6.

Perry Lacy claims he was resting at the time Treona Wren drove her vehicle off the road at an excessive rate of speed and struck his residence.

Lacy, represented by Thomas C. Rich of Fairview Heights, is seeking in excess of $100,000 in damages plus costs of the suit. Damages also are being sought from Josephine Garrett for comparative negligence.

According to the suit filed Sept. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Wren was traveling westbound on State Street when the accident occurred.

Lacy claims she failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to apply her brakes and drove too fast.

In addition to his physical injuries, Lacy claims he has expended money for medical care, has suffered pain and disability and has lost wages.
