Diversion tactics

To the editor:

I have been part of the leadership of Center Grove Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville for the last 25 years. Kurt Prenzler and his family have been members of my church for six years. Two of his children have been baptized here.

For about three years Kurt faithfully served as our church librarian. For about three years he also taught our Sunday School class for four- to six-year-olds. He has a strong interest in good pre-school education, as evidenced by his ownership of Good Sheperd Academy, a day care and pre-school in South County, St. Louis that serves children of low-income families.

As I have known Kurt, he has been a faithful and dependable member of our church. He is a good husband and father of three well-behaved children.

Kurt is pro-life and pro-fanily and stands for clean ethics in government before party. Beyond being very well educated, Kurt Prenzler is a gentleman, thoughtful and very well read. He is a good listener and has been a faithful servant within our church body.

As I see it, the current treasurer is unfairly attacking Kurt Prenzler personally, trying to divert the voter's attention from an examination of the current treasurer's record in office.

I support Kurt Prenzler for the Madison County Treasurer's position, I encourage all voters to critically examine both candidates' credentials and commitment to fair and ethical conduct in office.
