Patricia Heath filed a personal injury suit against Jack in the Box in Madison County Circuit Court Aug. 28, seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries she sustained when slipping on water near the soda machine.
According to the complaint filed by Thomas Rich of Fairview Heights, Heath was a customer at Jack in the Box on Madison Avenue in Granite City on May 7.
She claims the fast food restaurant failed to manage, inspect, clean and maintain its premises in a safe condition, failed to have a safe procedure for warning customers of the wet floor and failed to place warning signs or cones in a manner visible to customers.
Heath claims she suffered injuries to her neck, shoulder and low back which caused her to spend money for medical care, lose wages and experience a disability and pain and suffering.
