Retention committee raises close to $50k

The committee to retain Judges Ann Callis, John Knight and Charles Romani reported raising $47,992.21 since the trio organized the Committee to Keep Madison & Bond Counties Safe on April 10.

The committee's largest individual contributor was $1,000 from George Fitzsimmons, a mediator with US Arbitration & Mediation-Midwest in St. Louis.

Some of the law firms who donated to the Madison County judges running for retention include Law Office of Christopher Cueto, Byron Gerber Petri & Kalb, Beatty Motil & Foster, Goldenberg Heller Antognoli Rowland Short & Gori, and Taliana Buckley Asa & Reames.

Transfers into the committee came from Citizens for Bill Mudge, Citizens for Effective Government, Citizens for Steve Nonn, Collinsville Democratic Club, Committee to Elect Judge Dan Stack, Friends of Matt Melucci and Operating Engineers Local 520 Vol. Political & Educational Fund.

The committee's largest expenditure was $4,500 to Price Miner Creative Strategies for consulting work.

The committee spent a total of $8,722.45.

At the end of June, the committee reported having $39,269.76 on hand.
