Commerce Bank Holds Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate New Edwardsville Banking Center

(St. Louis, MO – July 27, 2006) – Commerce Bank has opened a new full-service Edwardsville branch, located at 2496 Troy Road, near the intersection of Highway 159 and Goshen Road. The new Edwardsville Banking Center provides full-service banking to individuals and businesses and offers a complete range of retail, commercial and investment services.
A ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the branch's opening was held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Members of the Edwardsville and Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce, and community officials joined Commerce executives at the event. The ribbon for the ceremony was constructed of $500 in twenty-dollar bills and was presented to Lisa Leehy, Director of The Children's Museum and LaVernn Wilson, Board President of The Children's Museum. Since 2003, The Children's Museum of Edwardsville has provided exhibits and programs to stimulate curiosity and motivate learning for children up to age 12. The Edwardsville Banking Center is the second Metro East banking center for Commerce Bank.
Josh McConachie, Branch Manager for the Edwardsville Banking Center commented, "We're very excited about building new relationships within the Edwardsville community. Our goal is to serve our customers in the most efficient and effective way. This new facility will allow us to provide friendly, personalized service to the Edwardsville community."
In addition, Commerce Bancshares, Inc. and West Pointe Bancorp, Inc. located in St. Clair County, recently announced signing a merger agreement in which West Pointe will merge with Commerce Bank. "We are excited to provide additional convenient locations for customers in the Metro East," said Darryl Collins, Senior Vice President, Commerce Bank. "This will further expand the Metro East locations for Commerce Bank to five additional branch locations and several ATMs in St. Clair County, Illinois."
