Wal-Mart customer sues for falling on substance

Delores Weston of Belleville is seeking in excess of $50,000 from Wal-Mart for injuries sustained in a slip and fall at the store's Belleville location in December.

Represented by James R. Williams of Williams, Caponi & Associates, Weston filed suit July 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

She claims head, back and neck injuries from slipping on a substance that was spilled in an aisle on Dec. 16, 2005.

According to the suit, Wal-Mart was negligent for allowing a substance to be spilled without cleaning it up and for failing to warn or stop customers.

Weston claims she has expended money for medical care and has experienced pain and suffering.
