Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier has asked straight shootin' Judge Lola Maddox if she wouldn't mind staying on for another two-year hitch, sources tell Dicta, just in case one of the three judges running for retention in the Third Circuit gets knocked off in the Nov. 7 general election.
Maddox, who bid farewell Nov. 30, 2004, came out of retirement in March to replace beleaguered Judge George Moran, Jr.
If Judges Ann Callis, Charles Romani and John Knight are not retained, the Illinois Supreme Court would appoint a replacement to serve until the next general election in November 2008.

The ferocious summer thunderstorm that walloped the St. Louis area last Wednesday had no mercy on Fairview Heights and its the retail and office mecca ravaged by a tornado in May.

In 1991 Farrago received a patent on a pad structure that relieves knee stress -- a version of which is sold today as the "Knee Saver" -- and widely used in the major leagues. The design is so fabulous the Knee Saver has a place of honor in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
In its infinite wisdom, SimmonsCooper is seeking an injunction and unspecified damages on behalf of Farrago.
Meanwhile, erstwhile firm founder John Simmons just returned from an SIUE ethanol/coal junket to China in search of alternative energy strategies, in time to accept a humanitarian award from his "friends" at SIUE.
