American Express filed a civil suit against Wood River resident Catherine Dunnagan claiming she has failed to pay the balance of her American Express Gold Rewards card.
According to the complaint, Dunnagan agreed to the terms and conditions of the card and is the person responsible for paying all amounts charged to the card.
American Express claims despite its demands for payment, Dunnagan has failed to pay and by her failure to notify of any errors, has acknowledged receipt of the merchandise and services charged.
American Express is seeking a judgment for $70,672.44, plus reasonable attorney's fees, pre-judgment interest, late fees and costs of the suit.
The case was filed July 14, in Madison County Circuit Court.
They are represented by Robert Markoff of Baker, Miller, Markoff & Krasny of Chicago.
