Belleville resident Linda Hayes is suing Gambro Healthcare of Fairview Heights for severe and permanent injuries she received while receiving dialysis on Dec. 17, 2005.
Hayes claims she was struck violently on the leg by a worker who was transporting another patient, according to a lawsuit filed July 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
She sustained a radial tear of the lateral meniscus, the suit states.
Represented by Michael P. Murphy of Freeark, Harvey, Mendillo, Dennis, Wuller, Cain & Murphy of Belleville, Hayes is seeking at least $50,000 in damages.
She claims Gambro's employee failed to keep proper care and lookout for individuals while transporting a patient, failed to slow down or stop his transfer of the patient when danger was imminent and neglected to transfer the patient with proper, safe and reasonable control.
