Man sues Gold's Gym for slipping on basketball court

Corey Strother is suing Gold's Gym in O'Fallon for injuries he suffered after slipping on a wet basketball court.

Seeking in excess of $75,000 for head, skull, neck, back and limb injuries, Strother claims he fell on water that leaked from the ceiling of the court on July 14, 2005.

"Plaintiff suffered injuries to the body as a whole, shock to the central and peripheral nervous systems; nervousness and anxiety," states the complaint filed March 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Strother is represented by Gerald M. Dunne of Clayton, Mo. He claims he has incurred medical expenses and has lost wages.

"All actions of plaintiff leading up to his injury were prudent and easily anticipated by defendant," the complaint states.
