Liese Lumber, Best-Way Foundations named in suit

Liese Lumber

A man who was injured when roof trusses collapsed filed a personal injury suit against Liese Lumber and Best-Way Foundations, both of Belleville, in St. Clair County Circuit Court Jan. 17.

Troy Lazenby claims he injured his left ankle while working with Liese and Best-Way on Nov. 9, 2004, as a carpenter on a residential construction job. Lazenby was hanging trusses which collapsed and caused him to fall.

Lazenby claims he also suffered significant ligament injuries.

According to the suit, Liese and Best-Way were negligent by failing to maintain proper safety procedures, failing to instruct employees on the proper method to install roof trusses and failing to inspect the trusses.

Lazenby claims his injuries have resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages.

Represented by Shane Moskop of Belleville, Lazenby is seeking a just and equitable judgment in excess of $50,000, plus all costs of the suit.
