Illinois Bar Foundation grants Violence Prevention Center $2,500

The Illinois Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association, has awarded a $2,500 grant to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois, located in Belleville.

The grant will help fund the printing and distribution of a brochure that informs victims of domestic violence about the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. The brochure also provides information about what victims need to take with them to court in order to be properly prepared for court cases.

A total of $105,482 in new grants has been awarded by the foundation to organizations in the state this year.

Established in 1951, the Illinois Bar Foundation's mission is to serve people in Illinois by supporting programs dedicated to improving the administration of justice and to sustaining and further enhancing the ideals of the legal profession.
